Contemporary Sofas & Loveseats

A Guide To The Styles And Uses Of Sofas & Loveseats Choosing furniture can be stressful. Good furniture will last a long time, so you want to get it right. When you are planning your living room the most important furniture will be the seating furniture. So this is the best thing to choose first. The size of your room will obviously affect your choice of furniture, but it is worth remembering that there are always more choices than you originally realize. One of the pieces of furniture which have recently risen to fashion is the loveseat. Contemporary Sofas & loveseats are starting to replace the traditional combination of sofa & armchair. For city dwellers who have limited space there used to be a choice of a couple of chairs, now the trend seems to be to select one from the sofas & loveseats combination which manufacturers are producing. For this reason although they are often marketed together they are always available separately.

There are three basic styles of loveseats, below is our guide to help you get started. 1. The s-shaped loveseat. This is a beautiful piece of furniture where the back of the sofa is in an s-shape. This means that the two people sitting on the sofa are still sitting next to each other, but they are also facing each other with the back of the sofa winding between them. This allows for intimate conversation, but the occupants are suitably separated, hence the name love seat. Many people believe that this is the only true loveseat. 2. The settee loveseat. This is simply a sofa for two people rather than three. It is often a good choice as it can be more practical than an armchair, and is often lighter in design than the traditional armchairs which can be quite bulky. 3. The sleeper loveseat. This is the perfect piece of furniture for small apartments as it is compact, like the settee Contemporary loveseat, but it can also be extended into a bed for when you have house guests. When looking at sofas & loveseats it is necessary to fully understand the area you have available and how you want to use it. For example the s-shaped loveseat is a great piece of furniture, but although it takes up the same amount of floor space as the other loveseats it requires more room as it needs to be accessed from different sides so cannot be put either against a wall or in a corner. If you are looking for practical furniture the settee loveseat or sleeper loveseats are a great choice. Equally if you have plenty of space the sofas & loveseats combination is a great way to add seating to a room without increasing the number of pieces of furniture or overcrowding the room with too many full sized sofas.
